M Ventures Associate

Your role: as Associate, you will support the growth of the M Ventures’ portfolio as well as investee companies. You will manage incoming deal flow and respond to potential investee companies to manage expectations. You will generate and evaluate deal flow and provide recommendations to the Technology Team. You will manage timely follow-up with potential investee companies, organize the evaluation process, including due diligence meetings and expert reviews. You will perform technical and financial due diligence and coordinate with internal and external experts that support the diligence process. You will perform the valuation of deals via benchmarks and business cases. You will support the negotiation and execution of equity investments and other transactions executed by senior members of the team. You will establish a prioritized portfolio of key contacts to potential investment targets, to investors and to scientists/academics. You will drive projects to decisions by aligning key internal and external stakeholders via transparent communication.

 

Who you are:

  • You have a PhD or MSc degree from a top-tier university in any scientific discipline. Finance MBA will be a plus.
  • You have a minimum of 2-3 years of working experience in relevant industries (operational, VC, investment banking or consulting). Operational experience in a start-up is a plus.
  • You have a notable understanding of corporate finance, capital budgeting and accounting.
  • You have a multi-disciplinary background (science, engineering, information technology) coupled with strong business and entrepreneurial acumen.
  • You have experience working with a diverse and international team.
  • You have strong analytical skills, ability to drive the generation of business case/plan and provide technical/scientific inputs.
  • You have availability to travel up to 50% depending on project load.
  • Your level of English is excellent (Written, Oral, Negotiations).
