Location: The Production Engineering and Design Manager is an onsite position based in Allentown, PA with approximately 20% domestic travel required to meet business needs.

 

Your Role:

The Production Engineering and Design Manager is responsible for providing resources efficiently and effectively for technical execution and extending technical support to the local manufacturing teams at two US sites (PA and AZ). The team works to ensure all products are safe for their intended use and meet all customer requirements. This is a key role in EMD Electronics' overall order execution and new product integration into manufacturing processes.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for managing production engineering teams, implementing practices to develop 3D modular designs for ETO & CTO and ensuring quality control across all project documentation.
  • Provide technical leadership through effective communications, coaching, training and development and build a strong organization with high morale. Mentoring, coaching, hiring and performance management.
  • Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities related to mechanical manufacturing engineering technologies and methodologies.
  • Reviews and evaluates technical designs and project activities for compliance with industry standard, technology and development standards including GD&T guidelines on mechanical designs.
  • Develop processes, continuous improvement plans, procedures and tools that aid in the efficient execution of orders and delivery of specifications to manufacturing team.
  • Estimate labor, capacity and other resources as required to operate, adhere to budget and schedule commitments with the teams.
  • Reporting key performance metrics for on time delivery of products through production engineering.
  • Align team resources to S&OP along with supporting product sustaining efforts, new product development and manufacturing site efficiency projects.
  • Ensure team supports technical liaison relationships with sales team, including the efficient execution of ETO cost quotations and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Champion Engineering Change Process at manufacturing sites for core products.

 

 

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or engineering role
  • 5+ years’ experience in a leadership capacity either managing or mentoring teams
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial) degree required
  • Knowledge of Solidworks, Autodesk, or Catia CAD required

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science or PhD in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Efficiently coordinate and connect with internal and external partners and present to team members and supervisors
  • Experience in editing and reviewing drawings & schematics, including Process Flow Diagrams and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams

 

Pay range for this position: $144,600 - $190,000 

The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors.
