Oracle Financials Consultant

The Application Consultant for the Oracle Financials area acts for the Accounting to Reporting topics to provide state of the art solutions. This includes the implementation of appropriate systems enhancements following established processes to meet customer requirements. The Application Engineer will interact with our Business facing organization to plan, prepare and execute projects as well as individual Change Requests.

In this role we require an excellent knowledge of Oracle Financials application and adjacent modules with focus on Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functionality combined with a good understanding of associated A2R (Accounting to Report) processes e.g. Invoice approval, Workflow, Payment integrated with ERP systems. Thus he/she should be in the position to consult business partners to find suitable and sustainable solutions meeting customer demands. The application consultant will play a key role working closely with the SAP migration team to migrate Oracle to SAP. The application consultant will have opportunity to learn SAP and be part of the SAP team to support the application.

FI is connected to all relevant ERP systems to centrally create, change, and distribute, or to consolidate master data across the complete enterprise system landscape. The integration of all those components and the participation in architecture design decisions is also part of this position.


Responsibilities (optional)

Secure minimal business disruption on application go live based on proper design and formal project hand-over process.

Change and Release Management

  • Establish documentation of current and target application architecture (incl. CMDB)
  • Establish and implement the Life Cycle Mgmt plan for applications in scope
  • Secure Change Management processes in line with relevant SOPs
  • Ensure complete and accurate handover documents created prior to production release
  • Manage the application portfolio at the most appropriate level of release



Project Delivery

  • Lead technical design of applications/solutions in portfolio
  • Provide technical services and functional advice on the implementation of business applications
  • Provide functional/technical support to project teams
  • Provide the technical input for defining and maintaining the development standard and guidelines


Who you are:

Education/Professional Experience

  • Bachelor/Master degree or equivalent in Computer Sciences and/or Business Administration
  • 10-year experience in software or applications services
  • 5-year experience within an international environment



  • English mandatory (written and spoken)
  • An additional language (German) is an asset


Skills & Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Integration skills regarding the use of functionality within iPayment for Credit Card
  • Expert knowledge on General Ledger, Account Payable, Account Receivable
  • Good knowledge in the surrounding modules like Procurement, Order Management
  • Good knowledge in XML Gateway
  • Good Knowledge of PL/SQL, SQL
  • Good knowledge in Oracle Forms, Forms Customization and Forms Personalization.
  • Knowledge on ADI (Desktop Integrator) and Workflow is a plus.

  • Ability to customize/review system configuration in FI and to prepare functional requirement specifications
  • Good knowledge in ABAP – development, exits, debugging, etc.
