Your Role:
We are currently seeking a Development Engineer for a role within the Single Use and Integrated Systems R&D group at MilliporeSigma Process Solutions business unit. In this position, the individual will be responsible for developing novel products used in the processing and purification of pharmaceutical and biotech product streams. This position will be based at our Bedford, MA campus.
In this dynamic environment, the candidate will be a key member of product development teams.
Responsibilities:
- Development and validation of single use products using current and new manufacturing processes, which includes knowledge transfer to the manufacturing organization resulting in a successful commercial launch
- Innovative Product design
- Design for Manufacturing and assembly
- Development of manufacturing process for thermoplastic components
- Maintaining up to date skills in CAD and SolidWorks
- Planning and executing DOE in conjunction with supporting data analysis and statistical software
- Writing technical reports and validation documentation for manufacturing processes
- Meeting project goals and deadlines while achieving cost targets
- Interfacing effectively with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, and Product Management function
- Sound decision making
This position may include minimal travel
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Plastics, Chemical Engineering or other Engineering discipline with 5+ years of experience in design and development
-OR-
- Master’s degree in in Mechanical, Plastics, Chemical Engineering or other Engineering discipline with 3+ years of experience in design and development
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of thermoplastics; specifically, injection molding, extrusion, heat bonding and ultrasonic bonding
- Proficiency with CAD software packages / techniques for product design
- Demonstrated hands-on approach in a development lab environment
- Proficiency in engineering, problem solving, experimental design and data analysis
- Knowledge of manufacturing and process development activities such as qualification, validation, design of experiments, FMEA and design for manufacturing
- Experienced with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
