Your role:

You will become a member of the Process Solutions (PS) Leadership Team and be responsible for Strategy and Market Intelligence. 

  • Provide key analytics, guidance and insights to capital markets and investor relations for Life Science and the corporate group. Anticipate future needs and identify opportunities.
  • Develop, set, and own the business plan: Strategy Development Process, define strategic direction for Process Solutions - Analyze problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure growth and development of our business.
  • Significant impact and critical link for Franchise Head and Sourcing, provide market intelligence.
  • Significant influence for other Strategy teams across Life Science (Life Science Services, Science and Lab Solutions, LS Strategy) and Group strategy to align the Process Solutions strategy with the overall LS/Group directions.
  • Owns Market/customer analytics and competitive insights to substantiate strategy and investment decisions (LRP, capex, inorganic), proprietary benchmarking of current position, define key differentiating factors against competition: Primary & secondary market research to characterize market opportunities and understand customer needs based on structured field feedback uptake; tools for analysis, interpretation, & visualization of data
  • Defines processes and drives governance for strategy execution, in collaboration with Franchises and Business Excellence, including feedback loop for measuring progress against strategic plan and trigger points for strategy refreshes/new strategic questions.
  • Accountable for development of ONE PS Strategy on multiple horizons and dimensions (franchise, modality, geography) to set the business plan, including SD(YY), franchise, segment/modality strategies and SPA strategies: Common frame of reference and vision for PS to guide actions and prioritization.
  • Identify key business drivers, priorities, and growth opportunities through in depth understanding of market trends, growth forecasts, technology trends, industry dynamics, competitive intelligence, and opinions of key thought leaders. 
  • Support achievement of strategic and operational objectives; more specifically monitor the business trends and providing analysis and recommendations. Appropriately "balanced" approach under the pressure of managing multiple priorities as well as communicating a clear strategic vision to the team.
  • Develop cohesive relationships and alignments/collaboration with internal departments, brand partners, commercial/marketing/R&D organizations, and outside groups.
  • Coordinate projects across PS business. Lead the Project Management team and ensure proper resource allocation.
  • Promote effective lateral communication and coordination across groups to improve efficiency and achieve desired results.
  • Become the integral interface between PS business and Life Science sector and the corporate teams.

 

Who you are:

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, chemistry, or related discipline. 
  • Demonstrated expertise and knowledge in the Life Science market.
  • Proven experience in other managerial position in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Demonstrated capability reading technology and market trends, and strategically planning future product opportunities.
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial skills and translating plans into commercially successful and profitable product offerings. 
  • Proven ability to collaborate with diverse business units and regions to develop and support sales plans, strong influential skills, and conflicting priorities management; demonstrated successes in enabling/support function.   
  • Must be capable of collecting, assimilating, and synthesizing relevant business/operating information and data to develop fact-based recommendations and support business decision making. Ability to initiate, lead and deliver change in implementing process improvements and cost savings initiatives.
  • Result-oriented – Solid analytical skills – Strategic thinker – Problem solver.
  • Experience working across organizational lines to translate market trends and opportunities into financial business plans.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

 

Preferred qualification:

  • M.Sc. or PhD preferred, MBA a plus.
