China BD Director

Your role:
Position is part of the Global Business Development & Alliance Managment department, reporting to the Regional BD Head.
- To develop/update Business Development strategy in alignment with China leadership team, Regional/Global BD leadership and peer BD Director across all of Healthcare's focus therapeutic areas of CV, Metabolics, Endocrinology, Oncology, Fertility and Neurology.
- Proactive lead identification through formal and informal networks both within and outside that are aligned with strategy.
- Align with key stakeholders to evaluate, move forward and complete partnering opportunities. Negotiate and finalize agreements to increase long-term sales and profits.
- Manage and further improve existing business partnerships including resolving major issues, amending terms of existing agreements and further expanding partnerships.
- Deals types to range the spectrum of commercial and R&D partnering, from exclusive licensing to co-commercialization, co-development to product acquisitions with a primary focus towards portfolio build and as second priority pipeline partnering and out-bound transactions of non-core assets.
Who you are:
- Fluent in English and mandarin (writing and Speaking)
- Scientific background (GRADUATE DEGREE IS A PLUS BUT NOT MANDATORY)
- degree or diploma in business/related is A PLUS but not mandatory;
- minimum 6 years of Business development, Licensing or other deal-making Experience in the pharmaceutical/BIOTECHNOLOGY industry
- Track record of identifying, Leading and completing high-impact deals, both r&d-stage and commercial-stage assets
- Prior to BD, Experience working in AN EXPERT FUNCTION (R&D/MEDICAL, MARKETING/SALES, Finance, LEGAL, REGULATORY AFFAIRS) OR IN STRATEGY/CONSULTING
- experience managing complex projects in China also involving internal matrix alignment
