Sr. Process Development Scientist

(Sr.) Process Development Scientist (Beijing, MSAT Biosafety)

 

Position Background:

 

This position reporting into the Technical and Scientific Solutions (TASS) comprised of a team of engineers and scientists dedicated to supporting  technologies in the biopharmaceutical industry in China.

 

The MSAT group works with the following technologies: bioreactor, clarification, chromatography, sterile filtration, tangential flow filtration, and viral reduction filtration. The candidate will work closely with sales and system design teams and also with  customer application. The candidate will be recognized by our customers and within organization as a subject matter expert and a key technical resource, competent in Biosafety.

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

  • Key technical role in North China.
  • Support process development and application activities for filtration processes in biopharmaceutical process
  • Design and develop trial protocols and plan/schedule experiments; Carry out data analysis independently
  • Present results and reports to biopharmaceutical companies; Derive relevant conclusion and recommendations for future course of action
  • Able to carry out reviews/audits to examine process sequence, operation protocol, design parameters; Troubleshoot field application related issues
  • Coordinate project related activities and communicate project status and updates to all relevant parties on critical projects.
  • Cooperate closely with Sales team, System design and customer application.
  • Conduct in-house/on-site training seminars for biopharmaceutical companies on different subjects.

 

 Requirements/Qualification:

 

  • Education background should be Bio/chemical Engineering, Biotechnology or related disciplines.
  • Strong background and practical experience in chromatography, vaccine process development or process design is strongly preferred.
  • Or experience in separation and purification of proteins & vaccines with emphasis in filtration and chromatography is preferred as well.
  • Ability to define project goals and provide practical, effective solutions to separation challenges.
  • Master degree or above is required.
  • Possess excellent data analysis and organizational skills. Good presentation skills, computer skills and communication skills. Good command of English, both oral and written
  • Willingness to travel
