Your Role:

Under the direction of the Global Head, Service Provider Management this role will be Accountable for the delivery of the following;

  • Responsible for Sourcing Strategy and Planning and Execution (including external environment intelligence) working in close collaboration with business partners (e.g. Procurement, R&D Quality)
  • Responsible for standardization, development and optimization (inclusive of analytics) of pricing tools and budget grids with providers
  • Responsible for the development of Contracting and Pricing templates, SOPs, trainings, and other core sourcing documents, as well as the associated implementation and training
  • Define and implement Process and Scoring tools that facilitate vendor pool selection and sourcing decisions
  • To extract and utilize metrics and analytics to inform and drive process improvement in our external sourcing relationships
  • Collaborate with the Procurement function to align responsibilities and objectives and to regularly analyze and assess all categories of sourcing across R&D
  • Additionally, under the direction of the Global Head, Service Provider Management, this role will provide support as needed across the following areas of Service Provider Management;

 

Related to the overall department objectives, and as a leadership team member will support the following, including but not limited to;

    • Issue resolutions and prevention (or further escalation) in line MSAs and Agreements with Service Providers
    • Initiatives to further optimize & better measure the Service Provider Management and Sourcing Strategy
    • Support governance meetings and participate in R&D level governance ensuring consistency in approach across programs with each Partner
    • Work with Global Clinical Operations functions to ensure the implementation and understanding of the Commercial Terms of the Strategic Partnership

 

  • Deep understanding of the business process of outsourcing and sensitivity to the global and regional environment of external sourcing
  • Issue-resolution orientation and proactive stakeholder management mindset – globally and with external partners
  • Solving complex problems by thinking in terms of scenarios, carefully considers all the pros and cons, and driving to the optimal solution for all stakeholders involved
  • Responding to sourcing strategy evolution and developments and taking appropriate actions to capitalize on opportunity and minimizing risks
  • Understanding of company’s overall strategy and how it applies to the external CRO environment

 

 

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years, Master's degree with 5+ years, or PhD with 3 plus years of relevant experience required

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree with science major preferred
  • At least 7 years in clinical development & 3 years of experience of CRO oversight preferred
  • Extensive experience in leading clinical trials successfully (ideally multiple trials from phase I to
  • Phase III from beginning to end providing a full scope of services experience)
  • Familiarity with Clinical Development/R&D processes
  • Excellent understanding of the clinical development process in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Good understanding of relevant regulatory guidelines (e.g. ICH-GCP)
  • Experience of working in global environment
