Your Role

As a Medical Director in Immunology, you will play a pivotal role in advancing clinical development programs for immune-mediated diseases — from study design through execution, data interpretation, and regulatory documentation. In this role, you will serve as a key clinical voice within global cross-functional teams, contributing to the scientific rigor and strategic direction of immunology assets that have the potential to address meaningful unmet patient needs.

You will provide day-to-day medical oversight for assigned clinical studies, including safety data review, protocol deviation assessment, and interpretation of accumulating efficacy and biomarker data. Working closely with experienced medical and functional leaders, you will contribute to clinical development planning, support governance discussions with well-reasoned medical analyses, and help shape evidence generation strategies across assigned indications. You will also contribute to regulatory documents and health authority interactions, ensuring all deliverables are scientifically sound, compliant, and inspection-ready.

This position offers a clear pathway toward broader program-level medical leadership, with increasing ownership of study strategy and cross-functional decision support as you grow within the organization.

What Success Looks Like

The successful candidate will be scientifically curious, clinically grounded, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a global matrix environment. They should be able to synthesize clinical and safety data, ask practical development questions, communicate clearly, and escalate issues appropriately while learning from senior medical leaders.

Success in this role requires balancing strong medical judgment with openness to coaching, collaboration, and increasing responsibility. The ideal candidate will bring credibility with clinical and scientific stakeholders, strong ownership of assigned deliverables, and a clear motivation to grow in pharmaceutical clinical development.

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD, DO, or international equivalent) with prior clinical training and hands-on patient-care experience in a relevant medical specialty.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, academic clinical research, or clinical development; candidates with strong clinical and academic research backgrounds motivated to transition into industry clinical development are also encouraged to apply.
  • Clinical experience in Rheumatology, Clinical Immunology, immune-mediated inflammatory diseases, Internal Medicine, or a closely related field.
  • Solid understanding of clinical trial conduct, medical monitoring principles, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), International Council for Harmonization (ICH) guidelines, and patient safety expectations.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret clinical and safety data, identify medically relevant issues, and communicate findings clearly to cross-functional partners.
  • Proven ability to deliver assigned milestones and work effectively in a global matrix environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Board eligibility, board certification, fellowship training, or equivalent specialist qualification in Rheumatology, Clinical Immunology, Internal Medicine with immunology focus, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, or another relevant immune-mediated disease area.
  • Experience supporting clinical trial design, execution, data review, medical monitoring, or study-level decision-making.
  • Familiarity with global clinical trial conduct, regulatory submissions, and health authority interactions.
  • Experience preparing or reviewing clinical documents such as protocols, informed consent forms, investigator brochures, clinical study reports, or scientific communications.
