Your Role:
The analytical chemistry department at EMD Serono is seeking a highly motivated PhD level Scientist with analytical and purification skills to work in our laboratories to advance small molecule drug discovery programs toward the clinic. In this laboratory-based position, the successful candidate will provide purification services to the medicinal chemistry team.  This includes the purification via SFC and prep HPLC. In addition, maintenance of all preparative and analytical HPLC and SFC’s will be performed by the successful candidate. This position will provide opportunities to develop innovative solutions to complex analytical and separation problems through the implementation and utilization of sophisticated chromatography SFC, SFC/MS, HPLC/MS and UPLC/MS instrumentation.

 

 

Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of PhD with 2+ experience or BS/MS with 10+ years of experience in preparative HPLC and SFC purification of chiral and achiral molecules.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Supervise the analytical laboratory personnel
  • Ensure all purification, LC/MS, and other laboratory equipment are maintained and repair any issues
  • Perform Analytical method development and purification of small chiral and achiral molecules
  • Operate and maintain/repair complex laboratory Waters and Agilent UPLC, UPLC/MS, LC/MS and SFC/MS instruments including routine troubleshooting in safe working environment.
  • Knowledge of modern analytical techniques, such as analytical HPLC, UPLC and MS experience preferred.
  • Perform Analytical chemistry work on a routine basis including Oversee the QC, recovery analysis and data processing for open access LC/MS and SFC/MS systems.
  • Clear record keeping with special attention to data traceability
  • Other duties and assignments as needed to support the lab operations
  • Well organized, clear communicator in both oral and written forms and ability to interact effectively with Medicinal Chemistry personnel
