Your Role:

EMD Serono in Billerica, MA is seeking a Research Associate – Analytical Chemistry to add to their Oligonucleotide Therapeutics Group (DDTech).

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the upstream and downstream biochemical/bioanalytical and biological analysis of oligonucleotides
  • Preparation of reagents and buffers for biochemical/bioanalytical and biological experiments by measuring the weight of organic compounds and the volume of solutions
  • Preparation of buffer solutions of specified molarity for Liquid Chromatography (LC) analysis of oligonucleotides
  • Assist in the physicochemical experiments (thermal denaturing Tm experiment of Oligo’s oligonucleotides
  • Assist in the operation of Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LCMS) system and be able to learn and work on the system
  • Maintain a report of experimental procedures and findings in electronic lab notebooks
  • Use of pH meter, Nanodrop to record data

 

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related Science field with 2+ years of experience with chromatographic separation, method development /qualification and structure elucidation expertise

OR

  • Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related Science field with 1+ years of experience with chromatographic separation, method development /qualification and structure elucidation expertise
  • 1+ years of experience with HPLC/UPLC and LCMS-based analytical method development

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with oligonucleotides
  • Familiarity with instrument troubleshooting and software including Empower, Mass Hunter, and UNIFI
  • Knowledge of GxP requirements and application of statistical methods in the analytical laboratory
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication, and collaboration.

 

Pay Range for this position: $33.00 - $51.00/hour

 

The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses. Benefits offered by the Company include health insurance, paid time off (PTO), retirement contributions, and other perquisites.
