Your Role:
EMD Serono in Billerica, MA, is seeking a Senior Associate Scientist – In Vivo Pharmacology. The In Vivo Pharmacology Senior Associate Scientist will be responsible for the hands-on execution of in vivo pharmacology studies that utilize mouse tumor models to study the anti-tumor activity of novel oncology and immuno-oncology agents. The Senior Associate Scientist will work under supervision and collaboratively as part of an in vivo pharmacology team and will be responsible for study execution, data analysis and generation of electronic notebooks. The successful candidate will support multiple projects and provide high-quality data packages within project timelines.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct in vivo studies, including mouse handling, compound formulation and dosing via multiple routes of administration.
- Perform necropsy, tissue and blood collection. Prepare and process tissue for downstream analysis.
- Maintenance of mammalian cell culture or primary immune cells using aseptic techniques.
- Collect and document data using electronic notebooks to maintain detailed records of study design, experimental procedures and data analysis.
- Follow IACUC protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in accordance with company policy.
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Biology, Pharmacology, Oncology, Immunology, or other Life Science discipline with 1+ years of hands-on experience with administering compounds via various routes (PO, IV, IP, SC) and blood/tissue collection
OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Pharmacology, Oncology, Immunology, or other Life Science discipline with 3+ years of hands-on experience with administering compounds via various routes (PO, IV, IP, SC) and blood/tissue collection
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in handling rodents and hands-on in vivo pharmacology skills, including dosing (PO, IV, IP, SC), preparation of test compounds, anesthesia, necropsy, blood and tissue collection
- Experience with standard laboratory techniques including cell culture, aseptic techniques and sterile handling of biological samples
- Familiarity with data analysis software such as Graph Pad Prism and Microsoft Office
- Previous experience with animal models of cancer, including syngeneic models, xenograft models and humanized models, and understanding of their applications and limitations
- Proficiency in tumor cell implantation, tumor measurements, and in vivo small animal imaging
- Understanding and familiarity with immunological readouts, E.g. FACS-based immunophenotyping, cytokine profiling (multiplex assays), assessment of tumor immune infiltrates, and functional assays (ELISPOT, cytotoxicity assays)
- Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse team setting and collaborate effectively on multiple projects.

Pay Range for this position: $90,400 - $135,700
The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses. Benefits offered by the Company include health insurance, paid time off (PTO), retirement contributions, and other perquisites.
