QC Manager, Analytical & Metals

Your role:  The Quality Control Manager, Analytical & Metals is responsible for planning, organizing and overseeing the Analytical and Metallic impurity testing at the site. Our site produces very diverse liquid chemicals used by the semiconductor industry requiring exceptional quality, low impurities, and lot-to-lot consistency.  In addition to commercial production, the site has a very strong R&D presence requiring QC support on new products and methodologies.    


  • Monitor, prioritize and schedule workflows of ~ 15 Chemists and Technicians and associated SOPs, Operating Budget and equipment needs
  • Work closely with Customers, Global Merck affiliates, and internal Teams with new and improved products and test methodologies.    
  • Own the product Specification process -preparation of paper and electronic Certificates of Analysis, product release into inventory, statistically evaluate test and material data and excursions.


Who you are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Chemistry
  • 8+ years’ experience in Analytical Chemistry
  • 5 + Years’ experience Managing a Chemical Laboratory Team
  • SAP experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS or PhD in Chemistry
  • PhD in Organic Chemistry
  • Previous demonstrated leadership ability, including excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced technical knowledge in chemistry and analytical sciences especially chromatography, spectroscopy, thermal methods and mass spectrometry
  • Experience with statistical methods and tools (e.g. MiniTab, JMP) and advanced Excel methods
  • Training or experience in business and project planning
  • Experience working directly with vendors and customers
