Your Role:
At EMD Electronics, the R&D Scientist will work with a team of curious scientists providing advanced material solutions to the semiconductor industry. We are at the forefront of technology, working with all the leading semiconductor manufacturers to deliver integrated solutions to the most challenging problems.
The scope of this position is development of advanced photoresists and related materials for EUV lithography and its extension, customization of each application and intensive customer support. The individual is expected to play a crucial role in chemistry innovation and comprehensive material investigation to facilitate the product development and commercialization. The specific tasks would include designing, synthesizing, analyzing and evaluating new chemicals for their performance as advanced photoresists. The individual will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with colleagues from different functions in a global setting.
This role may involve both domestic and international travel.
Who you are:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Surface Chemistry, or other scientific disciplines or in Materials Science, Engineering or other engineering disciplines
- 5 + years’ experience in chemical synthesis and analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD degree in Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Surface Chemistry, or other scientific disciplines or in Materials Science and Engineering or other engineering disciplines
- 2 + years’ experience in chemical synthesis and analysis
- Team player who can handle the ambiguity and deal with the inherent uncertainties that come with advanced material research and development
- Demonstrated capability to perform advanced organic synthesis and characterization of complex molecules
- Knowledge of Organometallic Chemistry
- Skills in handling air/moisture-sensitive reagents are highly desirable
- Ability to generate new ideas, make a convincing case supported by data and drive to implementation
- Hands on experience with molecular characterization tools (NMR, FT-IR, GPC, HPLC, GC etc.)
- Experience in material characterization techniques (SEM/TEM, AFM, XPS, XRD/XRR, DSC, TGA, etc.)
- Experience in material design for advanced photoresists is highly desirable
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills
- Able to quickly learn new concepts and techniques on the job. Willing to actively adopting new learnings towards its execution in daily work
- Self-motivated with critical thinking skills
