Responsibilities:
The R&D Scientist will work with a team of scientists providing advanced material solutions to the semiconductor industry.
Responsibilities include:
- Design and synthesis new organic and inorganic EUV lithography photoresist platform;
- Search and optimize the synthesis and purification conditions of photoresist chemicals.
- Explore the photoresist platforms with different chemical mechanism.
- Systematically investigate and characterize the performance of photoresist materials;
- Obtain and analyze performance data from the testing and formulation team.
- Collect the physical and performance data for photoresist materials and work along with the data analyst to build up the database and guide the further development on the project;
- Help customers identify and solve their issues regarding our samples;
- Synthesize new chemicals to fulfill customers’ needs on the different process conditions and environmental concerns.
- Fulfill the needs from formulation team and provide suggestions for the product formulation;
- Synthesize chemicals as requested by the formulation team.
- Discuss with formulation team on the possible chemical and solvent combinations.
- Present developments on products at conference as SPIE and explore potential customers;
- Report and publish papers and patents to protect our intellectual properties; and
- Complete shared duty for lab waste disposal and instrument maintenance.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Employer requires a PhD in Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field and at least two (2) years of experience with chemical synthesis and analysis.
In addition, the employer requires the following:
- Demonstrated ability with organometallic chemistry or coordination chemistry gained through at least two (2) years of experience and at least one (1) PhD. level publication related to organometallic chemistry or coordination chemistry;
- Demonstrated ability with molecular design for advanced materials gained through at least two (2) years of experience and at least one PhD. level publication related to molecular design for advanced materials;
- Demonstrated ability handling air and moisture-sensitive reagents gained through at least two (2) years of experience; and
- Demonstrated ability with x-ray diffraction and crystallography gained through at least two (2) years of experience.
All years of experience may be gained concurrently and the employer is willing to accept experience gained concurrently while completing a degree program.
Travel Requirement: 5% domestic travel required per year and 5% international travel required per year.
