Your Role:

The BioMonitoring business field of MilliporeSigma Corporation is seeking a Digital Contract & Service Sales Specialist to support the growth strategy in the microbiology quality control field, with a strong focus on pharmaceutical, food, beverage, and other microbiological testing markets.  BioMonitoring Sales is focused on supporting microbiology needs, particularly focused in highly regulated markets, such as pharmaceutical manufacturers and food suppliers.  This Sales Specialist will be digitally savvy and engage with to consistently achieve sales targets established by the Sales Manager. They will be required to submit accurate, quarterly forecasts and updates as requested. They will prioritize and manage their territory, pursuing and following up on sales opportunities for various service contract sales and billable repairs. They will work collaboratively with internal partners, such as the BioMonitoring Sales Specialty team, Depot and Field Service Engineers, Field Marketing, and Technology Specialists as necessary to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. This Sales Specialist will be able to work in a face-paced environment with a strong ability to pay attention to the details.  As needed, the Sales Specialist will deliver presentations utilizing multiple tools as it relates to strategy and/or business review meetings and Plans of Action (POAs) at the territory and customer levels.  They will be expected to schedule, facilitate, execute, and/or participate in relevant activities within the defined territory.  Travel expectations are >10%. 

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Interact with internal and external customers from the initial selling process through the Purchase Order processing phase
  • Generate quotations for service agreements and billable repairs for current MilliporeSigma customers
  • Assist our customers in sending in equipment for service by collecting associated decontamination forms and issuing RMA’s
  • Work independently to sell new and renewal service agreements within a defined geographical territory
  • Perform research using a variety of different databases, including MilliporeSigma’s customer history database, service management database, contract management database, installation database, and ERP, all of which stores inquiries and information that MilliporeSigma has received from a customer and/or prospective customer
  • Work closely with Order Management team to ensure that orders are entered accurately and follow-up regularly to ensure that product is shipped as required
  • Utilize sales experience to negotiate agreement cost structure for competitive customer agreements, to aid in customer retention, and to minimize loss of business
  • Work independently and collaboratively with Field Sales and Field Service to obtain orders and grow the service revenue and meet the established sales target

This is a hybrid role, alternating flexibly between remote work and 3 office days in Burlington, MA.

 

Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, Molecular Biology, or Engineering

-Or-

  • 3+ years of sales experience in any industry with a High School Diploma or GED

-Or-

  • 3+ years with the hardware equipment service & support industry with a High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience with technology implementation
  • Experience utilizing LinkedIn Sales Navigator, HubSpot, Salesforce, ZoomInfo, and ability to work with additional internal digital tools
  • Familiarity with AOAC, food safety regulations, hygiene monitoring, EPA guidelines, and relevant microbiological United States Pharmacopeia chapters, with emphasis in quality control is a plus
  • Proven success in establishing internal and external customer relationships at various decision-maker or influencer levels that demonstrates an understanding of the sales process
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrixed organization inspiring teamwork to achieve results
  • Skilled in preparing, communicating and implementing tactical business plans for territory and accounts, appropriate to the level of the audience
  • Demonstrates problem-solving skills and sound judgment to prioritize issues or gaps in day-to-day activities
  • Demonstrated success in the adoption of electronic business tools such as Microsoft Office & Salesforce.com 
  • Demonstrates business acumen and agility in the Food, Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Contract (Reference) Testing Laboratory industries as it relates to the microbiology discipline
  • Skilled in achieving technical competency, product knowledge, understanding of workflow and competitive landscape
  • Experience with hardware maintenance within a heavily regulated market
  • Proven ability to prioritize, work independently, and meet deadlines
