Director of CDMO Business Development and Partnerships

Your Role:

As a Director of CDMO Partnerships, you will lead and support strategic business development initiatives for the Biologics & Viral Vectors (BioVV) CDMO business. You will focus on: assessing current technical & strategic gaps, identifying potential partnership opportunities, selecting potential partners, defining implementation plans and leading negotiations with partners.

 

You will be part of a global team interacting closely with strategy, marketing and business developments across LSS and Life Sciences. The role is critical to achieve our growth ambition in the BioVV space.  

 

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with Strategy to identify existing gaps in our offering
  • Understand technical requirements to close gaps
  • Assess feasibility of partnerships
  • Conduct analysis to evaluate different scenarios (e.g. organic vs partnership)
  • Define different models of collaboration
  • Align with relevant internal/external stakeholders
  • Define business cases to assess partnership potential
  • Define key selection criteria for potential partners
  • Drive interaction and negotiations with potential partners

 

 

Who you are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD degree in Science and/or Business with high affinity for technical topics
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Business Development and/or Strategy ideally in the Bio Pharma services industry
  • Good understanding of Bioprocessing and development
  • Strong communication across different management levels to foster collaboration, drive alignment, and achieve results
  • Global travel up to 20%

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced scientific degree
  • Knowledge in project management and strategy development
  • Experience with financial analysis and building business cases
  • 2+ years of experience in the  CDMO/CTO/CRO environment
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, energetic, team-oriented environment. Willing to constructively contribute to and debate key issues affecting the organization across multiple areas
  • Ability to speak German, French, local languages is a plus
