Your Role:

The main responsibilities for this position are to manage, develop, and grow MilliporeSigma business within named accounts for the IVD Manufacturing and Testing customer segments. A key aspect of this role will be to seek out new business opportunities within the territory and work closely with MilliporeSigma support teams to ensure that financial targets are realized. The person in this role will be responsible for an assigned territory covering “Assigned Accounts” within a specific geography, achieving sales and gross profit goals of MilliporeSigma product lines within this geography. A strong customer-centric focus is critical to ensure that the customer’s needs are both understood and managed proactively and professionally.

 

The position requires travel of about 50% to visit with customers within the assigned territory and the ability to successfully drive business through face-to-face and virtual activities. The ideal candidate will utilize broad-based knowledge of fundamental scientific procedures, testing methods, and equipment. Additionally, they will need to utilize excellent listening skills to identify customer needs and offer appropriate product solutions.   A strong molecular biology or immunoassay workflow background as well as an understanding of clinical and environmental testing will be helpful. The candidate will need to employ effective sales techniques, business acumen, and presentation skills to successfully close sales of MilliporeSigma products through multiple sales channels.

 

In this role, you will meet or exceed sales targets while providing detailed and accurate forecasts at scheduled intervals. You will collaborate closely with workflow, product, and segment specialists, as well as business development managers, to identify customer needs and deliver comprehensive solutions that align with our commitment to innovation and sustainability. Utilizing an omni-channel sales approach, you will engage customers through our website, B2B platforms, distributors, and direct sales efforts to maximize reach and impact, ultimately growing revenue and market share by presenting MilliporeSigma products and services.


Understanding customer applications and commercial needs will be essential to advancing new opportunities, while monitoring competitors’ market and product positions will inform your strategies. You will participate in trade shows and provide commercial and technical support on critical raw materials used in diagnostic tests. Additionally, you will manage all customer inquiries, plant audits, and contract negotiations. While this is an individual role, teamwork is crucial, as collaboration and communication within the team will help achieve common goals. Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, or Business (Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry)
  • 3+ years of experience in a sales role

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Broad-based knowledge of basic scientific procedures, testing methods, and equipment coupled with the ability to diagnose customer needs and provide product solutions.
  • Excellent organization and time management.
  • Business acumen to negotiate long-term supply agreements.
  • Highly goal-oriented and self-motivated, capable of working with minimum direction.
  • Self-starter, proactive individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to be autonomous and to work in a multicultural environment. 

 

Base Pay Range for this position - $63,500 – $118,600

 

Our ranges are derived from several sources, and largely reliant on relevant industry market data. Should we decide to make an offer, we will consider several factors, including but not limited to your location, skills, experience, career level, and other job-related factors.  This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k)-matching program; paid time off; and paid holidays; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses.
