Packaging Engineers III

 

Worksite address: EMD Millipore Corporation, 400 Summit Drive, Burlington, MA 01803

Responsibilities:

 

  1. Design, develop, and validate new product packaging from concept to commercialization including sterile packaging, primary and secondary boxes.
  2. Work closely with other R&D engineers, scientists, marketing, and manufacturing colleagues to develop and launch innovative cost-effective sustainable packaging addressing customers’ needs.
  3. Summarize and present results in both written and oral reports to upper management.
  4. Support capital packaging projects, including developing RFQs, project management, and validation activities across multiple locations.
  5. Solicit new opportunities throughout Biology and Life Science organization to provide more sustainable, improved packaging or more cost-effective solutions for existing products.

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

 

Employer requires a Master’s degree in Packaging Science, Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or closely related field and at least two (2) years of experience in any occupation involving Packaging development. Alternatively, the employer requires a Bachelor degree in Packaging Science, Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or closely related field and at least five (5) years of progressively more responsible work experience in any occupation involving Packaging development.  In addition, the employer requires the following:

 

  1. Demonstrated ability in managing branding and packaging projects in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry gained through two (2) years of work experience;
  2. Demonstrated ability with supplier relationship skills and knowledge of supply chain gained through two (2) years of work experience;
  3. Demonstrated ability with packaging testing gained through two (2) years of work experience; and
  4. Demonstrated ability with packaging automation skills to run packaging projects in the biotechnology industry gained through two (2) years of work experience.

 

All years of experience may be gained concurrently.

 

10% travel required per year of which 5% is domestic travel and 5% is international travel.
