Your Role:
Syntropy LLC, (a Merck KGaA Darmstadt Germany and Palantir Technologies Joint Venture) empowers scientists and researchers in Academia, Pharmaceutical research, and government entities with an outstanding high-value data integration and data exchange platform to accelerate science. As part of this technology driven digital business, you will work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment to help bring our client strategy and vision to life.
The ideal candidate is an accomplished professional in clinical research and healthcare informatics who brings experience in pharmaceutical and academic medical center research. A strong desire to improve patient lives and advance drug discovery and development using real-world evidence is key.
You will need to be capable of guiding client conversations through customer problem identification, use case definition, and custom solution development in relevant areas such as clinical research, trial design/execution, and data collaborations. Experience in both therapeutic development and collaborations between medical centers and pharma companies is essential.
Location: Cambridge, MA, USA Preferred; Remote in USA for select talent

The Director of Partnerships – EMD Digital will:
- Develop, test, and refine how Syntropy engages with both Academic Medical Centers and Pharma development organizations
- Build a pipeline of client opportunities and convert these opportunities to successful clients together with the Syntropy team
- Collaborate with colleagues across business development, commercial operations, product, and engineering to refine the offer, customize client solutions, and build execution strategies
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
- This position requires a minimum of a master’s level advanced scientific/medical degree (e.g. MD, PhD, PharmD, MPH, or other master’s level degree)
- Have minimum 3 years of clinical research or collaboration experience in the pharmaceutical industry, per the above description, with a sound understanding of the overall clinical research process
- Proven clinical research strategist with experience designing, implementing, and conducting collaborative real-world evidence studies
- A minimum of 6 years of combined relevant experience in a medical/clinical research environment, scientific function in the pharmaceutical or academic medical center space is required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with and ability to apply clinical data interoperability standards to client projects
- Agility to interact across varying therapeutic areas and indications
- Collaborative and able to influence peers across the organization, along with a proven ability to establish business partner relationships with collaborators
- Strong track record of positive, productive interactions with Medical Experts and Investigators
- Has working knowledge of the multi-disciplinary functions involved in a company's drug development process, e.g. clinical operations, biostatistics, regulatory, commercial, operations, etc. good interpersonal, verbal communication, and influencing skills; can influence without authority
Pay Range for this position: $153,300 - $229,900
Our ranges are derived from several sources, and largely reliant on relevant industry market data. Should we decide to make an offer, we will consider several factors, including but not limited to your location, skills, experience, career level, and other job-related factors. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses.
