Your Role:

 

EMD Electronics in Carlsbad, CA is seeking a Chemist. Working within our Quality Control Department safety and quality will be top priorities followed by consistent turnaround time of tests that are performed accurately. Specific Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Perform complex routine and non-routine analysis of chemical samples for ultra-trace impurities to support manufacturing and special projects
  • Collaborate with a team to support on-time, complete deliveries to customers
  • Use analytical instrumentations such as GC, GC-MS, ICPOES, ICPMS, IC, NMR
  • Troubleshooting quality excursions and instrument issues
  • Review and update work instructions and documentations
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects, updating internal documentations and coordinating preventative maintenance activities

 

Physical Attributes:

  • Wear appropriate (PPE) while working around hazardous material(glasses/goggles, chemical resistant suites, gloves , safety shoes, and respirator)
  • Lift up to 50 pounds unassisted

 

 

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or other scientific disciplines

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Experience in analytical measurements and analytical tools
  • Experience working with hazardous chemicals
  • Experience in a chemical manufacturing site
  • Demonstrated safety focus
  • Demonstrated detail oriented
  • Proficient troubleshooting skills and hands-on approach
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with teamwork abilities, to thrive in a diverse environment

 

$29-$60 per hour 

Our ranges are derived from several sources, and largely reliant on relevant industry market data.
