Job Title: Controls Engineers

Responsibilities:

The Controls Engineer will lead the integration of Control Systems in a Chemical Manufacturing Environment and the design, implementation and ongoing support of control and information systems for chemical batch process plants. Specific job duties include:

  1. Ensuring we sustain a 24/7 operation within our manufacturing facility and assisting the Operations Team resolve issues concerning product quality, reliability, and operability;
  2. Designing and developing improved operating and control strategies to achieve efficiency targets for batch chemical production systems;
  3. Establishing specifications for controls and instrumentation hardware;
  4. Programming, configuring, and commissioning the Process Automation System (PAS) and Programmable Electronic Safety System (PES);
  5. Commissioning, validating, and staring up the control systems within our manufacturing facility;
  6. Developing and implementing life cycle management strategies to ensure controls platforms continue to meet evolving safety, cybersecurity, quality, and production demands as well as follow corporate standards and relevant codes and laws; and
  7. Provide mentorship in professionally developing engineers and act as a technical resource for the team.

 

Salary: $137,025 - $165,000 per year.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

Employer requires a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Control Systems, or a closely related field and three (3) years of work experience as a Controls Engineer or related occupation performing PLC programming design and coding in the manufacturing industry.  In addition an applicant must have the following:

 

  1. Demonstrated ability creating ladder diagrams, sequential function charts, function block diagrams, and structured text gained through three (3) years of work experience;
  2. Demonstrated ability performing plant automation programming (PLC) and systems integration and troubleshooting in the Allen-Bradley platform gained through three (3) years of work experience;
  3. Demonstrated ability reading and redlining electrical schematics gained through three (3) years of work experience; and
  4. Demonstrated ability designing Control Panels, electrical wiring schematics, control loop drawings, and panel layouts using AutoCAD gained through three (3) years of work experience.

 

Applicant must be willing to work in an industrial chemical manufacturing environment. All years of experience may be gained concurrently.

 

In the alternative, employer would accept a master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Control Systems, or a closely related field and one (1) year of work experience as a Controls Engineer or related occupation performing PLC programming design and coding in the manufacturing industry. In addition an applicant must

have the following:

 

  1. Demonstrated ability creating ladder diagrams, sequential function charts, function block diagrams, and structured text gained through one (1) year of work experience;
