Your Role:
The Operations Technician will be part of the Chemical Manufacturing team in Carlsbad, CA. Specifically in the High-Volume Manufacturing Distillation (Purification) department that are responsible for purifying 12+ chemicals 24 hours a day 7 days a week Specific responsibilities Include:
- Operate / Monitor multiple purification systems at once
- Sample finished product and raw material
- Perform data entry
- Flex to monitor other department’s systems
- Operate forklift / electric pallet jack
- Manual and Automated vessel decontamination
- Chemical Packaging (Filling with chemical)
- Perform hazardous waste consolidation
- Acid wash stainless steel
- Maintain a clean and organized manufacturing environment
- Assist with unloading Isotainer truck
- Assist the Engineering team with troubleshooting system issues
- Inspect vessels and documentation for correctness and completeness
- Follow Safety/Quality practices
- Participate in continues improvement projects
- Routine communication with Engineering, QC, QA, RGA, and Materials teams
Physical Attributes:
- Wear a full-face air-purifying respirator and other PPE
- Lift up to 50 pounds
This is a Night Shift position: Hours operations 9pm-5:30am
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years’ experience in chemical industry
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry or other science disciplines
- Experience handling chemicals
- Proficient in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
- Knowledge in Safety Data Sheets and written work instructions
- A strong focus on quality and safety
- Knowledge in using Microsoft suite including (Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint)
- Experience using SAP and LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) system.
- Ability to use hand tools
$26.00-$41.00 an hour
