Your Role: 

EMD Electronics is seeking Gas and Chemical Technicians for our team in Ocotillo! In this role, you will be performing daily intrusive work on systems that maintain supply of gases and chemicals to a semiconductor manufacturing environment that designs, manufactures, and sells semiconductor manufacturing equipment, including etching and deposition systems, to produce the chips that power modern electronics like AI data centers and smartphones. They create the tools used to build advanced chips, providing solutions for key steps in semiconductor fabrication, such as adding and removing thin films. This is a challenging, hands-on, rewarding job opportunity for people who want to join a growing business.  

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure correct materials are scoped and field equipment supports new gas lines.
  • Provide technical support for system design, modification, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Identify potential equipment failure points and perform safety assessments.
  • Technical writing for process development
  • Accurate documentation of all activities
  • Read, understand, and develop P&ID’s
  • Performing technical repairs of equipment maintenance of gas and chemical systems

 

Physical Attributes:

  • 75% of time walking throughout the facility (3-5 miles per day).
  • Climbing of ladders up to 12-foot-tall (utilizing fall protection).
  • Basic lifting (up to 40lbs).
  • Bending of the knees and overhead reaching.

Who You Are: 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years experience in a semiconductor, chemical or other manufacturing setting

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or other technical discipline
  • Understanding of safe work practices and experience in lockout, tag out projects
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written) 
  • Technical aptitude to identify parts needed for a replacement or repair
  • Ability to read flow transmitters, pressure transducers, understand units of measure and use precision measuring equipment
  • Understand materials of construction and chemical compatibility
  • Awareness to identify unsafe work conditions and report them to management
  • Excellent teamwork and people skills

Pay Range for this position: $24-$39/hour

The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses. Benefits offered by the Company include health insurance, paid time off (PTO), retirement contributions, and other perquisites.
