Account Manager - Academic Accounts Cambridge/Norfolk

Your role: our Client Success Manager serves as the primary point of contact for generating sales of products and services from existing and prospective customers in an assigned territory which for this role will include Cambridge and Norfolk. You will coordinate all customer support functions, including field and headquarters based specialists, to help our customers meet their objectives and maximise business opportunities. All Client Success Managers are therefore expected to utilise the available tools and resources to track and report sales activity and share account knowledge, exceed sales targets on a quarterly and annual basis, ensuring a sustainable, profitable and forecasted growth. You will manage activities within your territory to ensure that you provide a high level of customer support, initiate customer contact and coordinate visits to develop and maintain a broad and deep network with prospective customers and maintain relationships with existing ones. The role involves developing the necessary customer knowledge to assess their needs and deliver the appropriate products, services and solutions, while developing strong internal relationships and coordinating these internal resources to address customer needs.


Who you are:

  • Scientific degree or PhD with experience of relevant Molecular Biology techniques is essential.


  • Ideally, you will have proven sales experience relevant to academic sales, working with a high-volume product portfolio and a track record of achieving targets. Candidates would also be considered specifically from a Molecular background, who have an existing business network across the local Life Science customer area.


  • You will possess the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team, along with good presentation skills and excellent interpersonal skills.


  • You will demonstrate good business acumen and be able to produce and interpret sales data in various formats.
