The Life Sciences division is looking for an outgoing, results orientated individual who has a passion for life sciences to join our team as a Regional Sales Project Manager covering all internal  sites in Western Europe. This position will be part of Research Global Strategic Accounts (GSA), with exposure to the GSA program. The individual will excel at managing projects and driving revenue at the assigned internal  account(s).

 

Your role:

Your role will combine two key skills; Sales and Project Management to ensure our products are prioritized internally through the strategic initiative. You will closely collaborate with internal functions such as e-business, customer excellence, strategic and operative procurement to create a best-in-class key customer experience. 

 

  • Strategically plan, manage and execute the initiative at internal sites in your region, specific focus on Darmstadt.
  • Operationally support sales initiatives within region working with Buy M WEU team.
  • Direct line management for WEU sales team, currently 2 people.
  • Provide ongoing support to customers to ensure a best in class key customer experience in close collaboration with dedicated Customer Excellence resource
  • Partner with key global and local internal stakeholders to understand customer pain points, develop best practices and drive efficiencies
  • Support the execution of the business plan and sales strategies to maintain existing business, establish new business and expand existing sales
  • Maintain, expand and improve B2B platform availability at all sites (L1/L2 punchouts, web pipeline solutions, static catalogs)
  • Analyze of internal lab spend to identify and prioritize opportunities building an effective pipeline together with the Analytics Manager
  • Use professional project management techniques and tools to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and control each account/site from the start
  • Assemble, analyze and report of metrics around client service, quality, and communication as KPIs

 

Who you are:

  • >3 yrs experience in Sales (Inside sales, Technical sales or Field sales)
  • Operational management experience combined with complex project management.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills are essential
  • Good knowledge of the combined product portfolio of Merck life sciences
  • B.S. in Life Sciences required; M.S. in the Life Sciences preferred
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP or similar certification) beneficial
  • Experience managing client-facing projects with cross-functional team experience would be beneficial
  • The ability to work independently and thrive in a matrix environment
  • Results orientated with a passion for success
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to build trust and confidence with respective stakeholders
