Your Role:

In this role you take ownership for patent and literature searches for all our business sectors. Your broad scientific background allows you to understand quickly which information our scientists and patent attorneys need as basis for their projects and decisions.

As an expert in the field, you autonomously use text mining, machine learning and specific analysis tools where applicable to answer specific questions that our internal partners have. After an expert search in the appropriate databases, you identify and extract relevant data. You apply text mining, machine learning and specific tools where applicable. Furthermore, you present your working results in tailored reports to our customers.

Our team closely collaborates for knowhow transfer, optimization of processes and development of new methods. Together we also evaluate and assess vendors, tools and databases. Additionally, you conduct internal database trainings and present services to our internal customers.


Who you are:

  • Master degree in chemical engineering, biotechnolgy or related fields with in-depth technical knowledge, Dr./PhD preferred
  • If possible, experience with
    • database searches, especially on host STN
    • searches in patent full text databases
    • searches for chemical structures and polymers are of advantage
  • Basic knowledge of intellecutal property
  • Experience appreciated with text and data mining, data clean-up and analysis, machine learning
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Word and Excel, if possible PowerBI
  • Programming skills e.g. Python, VBA for Word/Excel are of advantage
  • Fluent presenting and communication skills in English and German
