Your role:

The primary research will focus on the validation / qualification of our hiPS colon organoids. This will include the understanding of what specific context of use(s) are the colon organoids suitable for, in relation to toxicity testing.
Optimization and improvements to this model, including assessment of novel models, such as "inversion of organoids" and implementation of novel small intestine organoids (or other advanced cell systems) for toxicity testing.
A second major priority will be what to measure – which biomarkers are suitable or specific context-of-uses, how to incorporate imaging in to the assessment, can biosensors be used to monitor onset of toxicity?
Additional topics will include: i) multi-organ approaches; ii) inclusion of an immune organ (e.g., bone marrow, lymph node) or biologically relevant vascular system iii) initial assessment of animal related models in terms of preclinical safety testing.

Who you are:

1.    Master of Science in relevant scientific area (e.g., pharmacology, toxicology, biochemistry, biology)
2.    Experience with advanced cell culture models
3.    Excellent record with cell culture in general
4.    Understanding of drug related toxicity mechanisms and test systems
5.    Ability to work alone, alongside colleagues performing more routine toxicity assessments.
