Your role:
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a curious and highly engaged chemist with a background in organometallic chemistry to join our Electronics division.
As a R&D scientist within our Materials Innovation Pipeline in Darmstadt you will be responsible for the design and the synthesis of novel organic and organometallic materials at the leading edge of semiconductor materials research. You will develop a deep understanding of materials’ structure-property relationships and explore novel methodologies for the synthesis and characterization of future products for a key industry.
As a member of international project teams, you will discuss your results with experts from various disciplines and organize yourself in accordance with the available resources and priorities of the projects. You will actively participate in external and internal scientific events related to semiconductor materials research and identify novel scientific trends as well as track the IP landscape related to your projects. With your growing expertise in semiconductor materials research your responsibilities within the team will constantly increase.
Your role also includes the scientific and technical guidance of lab technicians.
Who you are:
• You have a PhD in organometallic chemistry or a related subject
• You have state-of-the art knowledge in the synthesis of organometallic complexes
• You enjoy executing your synthetic ideas in the lab
• You have a high degree of motivation, good communication skills and are an excellent team player
• Preferable, you have gained scientific experience in an international environment (e.g., as a postdoc)
• You have a result-driven working style
• You enjoy working in an international team setting
• You have proficient communication skills in English and the willingness to learn German on a basic level
