Senior Scientist Biophysics (all genders) Molecular Pharmacology

Your Role: You will play an important role in our Healthcare research programs by developing, planning and executing assays and providing pharmacological data to drug discovery projects. Specifically, within our biophysics team, you will develop and apply biophysical assays for the analysis of binding of small molecules or antibodies to recombinant target proteins. Your work includes supervision of technical coworkers, analysis, interpretation and storage of experimental data. You will present results to internal and cross functional project teams. Your role will also involve collaboration with various partners across all functions of our research organization. Participating in and managing of external collaborations will be an important part of your work. You will also be involved in the evaluation and implementation of novel technologies or screening strategies and in the identification and validation of innovative drug targets.

 

Who You Are:

  • You are holding a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, Applied Chemistry, Biology or related field, and have 5 years of practical lab experience in an academic, biopharmaceutical or biotechnological setting.
  • You have experiences in managing a scientific laboratory and  setting up of workplans keeping focus on project objectives and timelines 
  • You have experiences with assay systems analyzing affinities and kinetics of the binding of drug candidates to recombinant target proteins.
  • You have expertise in assay data analysis packages and reporting to databases
    You have strong oral and written communication skills in English and like to work in cross functional, intercultural teams
  • Experience in biophysical characterization of small molecule-protein interactions (e.g. by surface plasmon resonance, nuclear magnetic resonance, switchSENSE technology or calorimetry) is a plus
  • Research experience in the fields of oncology, immuno-oncology or immunology is advantageous
