Analytical Chemist

We are seeking an Analytical Chemist with experience in chromatography and spectroscopy techniques to join the Advanced Analytical Technology group. The advanced analytical group located in Jhudong supports the Planarization platform within the Performance Materials division.

The role involves analysis and characterization of abrasive materials and formulated products and the successful candidate will assist in new product analysis, method validation, and transfer of operating procedures to Quality Control. They will be responsible for routine and non-routine sample analysis working as part of an integrated team of researchers to support new product development, with most of their time being hands-on laboratory work.

The role involves working closely with R&D, production, quality, and commercial teams to ensure rapid delivery of new products to customers in the semiconductor industry.  The chemist will use a wide variety of particle sizing and particle measurement instruments in addition to HPLC, IC, GC, GCMS, titration, UV/Vis, and NIR.  A broad understanding of various analytical techniques is preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with at least 3 years industrial experience.
  • Strong technical understanding of fundamental analytical chemistry.
  • Theoretical and operational understanding of analytical techniques.
  • Strong fundamentals and practical experience in the use of statistics
  • Hands on experience in analytical instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of a wide breadth of analytical tools and their relevant applicability.
  • Strong fundamentals and practical experience in the use of statistics to develop data reliability information.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that support a diverse team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Must demonstrate creativity and strong problem-solving skills.
