Technology Lead

Your Role:


We are seeking an R&D Technology Lead to join the R&D group in Hsinchu (Zhudong) for CMP slurry development for the semiconductor fabrication industry. The Lead will supervise a team of chemists to develop new formulations for advanced memory and logic applications, and work with global and local semiconductor customers.


  • Lead research and formulation development of the CMP slurry.
  • Direct the tactical and strategic activities of the chemists in the team, collaborate with the global R&D teams
  • Create high value-added formulated products for semiconductor manufacturing; working with applications, marketing, and commercial teams.
  • Lead technical work during period of new product introduction and development for customers, support during qualification period.
  • Provide technical support or troubleshooting for existing commercialized products
  • Lead fundamental research in understanding the film surface and interactions between film and slurry.
  • Collect, analyze, and present data, using rigorous data analysis and modern visualization methods
  • Participate in external meetings (customers / technical meetings) to promote technical capabilities
  • Lead intellectual property development (e.g. patent filings).
  • Focus the team on following safe work practices in the laboratory

 Who You Are:


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Ph.D.  in Chemistry/ Physics or Material Science 
  • 7 + years’ experience in Research and Development
  • 5 + years of experience in design of experiments and statistical analysis

 Preferred Qualifications:


  • Technical depth in formulations, surfactants, polymers, colloidal chemistry, electrochemistry, and defect metrology is desired
  • Professional verbal and written communication in Mandarin and English
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills that support a diverse team environment.
  • Hands-on experience with wet chemistry
  • Strong technical background in semiconductor industry.
  • Surface chemistry knowledge and experience.
  • Knowledge of statistical design of experiments and statistical software.
  • 7-10 years experience in CMP slurry formulation
