Your Role:
Position Overview:
The Maintenance Mechanic at MilliporeSigma in Indianapolis, IN will independently overhaul, troubleshoot and repair machinery, equipment and the facility at large as well as install new equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic will perform work in one or more of the following manufacturing areas: component preparation, compounding, filling, capping, packaging, and machine shop. The Mechanic will work with the area Production Supervisor when working in a production environment to determine work/repair priorities that may impact their operation. The following activities and responsibilities will be completed on a daily basis:
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and plant systems
- Perform setup and installation of machine operation equipment and train production employees on usage
- Diagnose malfunctions of production equipment and utility systems, and make necessary repairs
- Complete work orders as assigned
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
- Employees may be responsible for handling wastes including hazardous wastes. The employee must attend mandatory annual hazardous waste training meeting(s) and show a competency in that training by passing test(s) administered by the company or consultant providing the training
- Shift: 2nd or 3rd shift
Physical Attributes:
- Responsible for acquiring and maintaining aseptic gown qualification
Who you are:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of work experience in a trade including electrical, pipe fitting, machinist, etc.
- Trade School or equivalent related training in a trade
- Ability to interpret drawings and schematics
- Good written and verbal skills
- Proficient in maintaining documentation
