Your Role:

MilliporeSigma in Jaffrey, NH is seeking a Project Engineer - Capital Equipment.  In this role you will be primarily responsible for managing and/or supporting minor and major capital projects of up to $10MM at (7) manufacturing and shipping locations in the eastern USA. The need to support other sites in North America may also be required. You will provide support as a subject matter expert in automation / controls engineering for manufacturing equipment, utilities, and building infrastructure as it pertains to a manufacturing environment.

 

You will have the responsibility for managing engineering, management of change inputs, risk management, developing schedules and tracking, creating request for proposal, associated documentation, creating purchase orders, financial tracking, equipment/construction management, communicating and coordinating with the stakeholders and end users, and managing and external firms and contractors, suppliers.

 

You will apply high energy and engineering skills with a combination hands-on / analytical approach to problem solving while working collaboratively within a matrixed organization.

Responsibilities: 

  • Execute projects including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring/controlling and closure
  • Secure required resources, and use formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks, and changes
  • Engage proactively with the team in utilizing lean and value-added project management processes
  • Ensure timely start-up and commissioning in alignment with project, production, and maintenance teams
  • Maintain project files on shared resources such as network drives, SharePoint, etc. in real time
  • Train, coach, develop and mentor engineering and maintenance staff on matters related to engineering
  • Perform duties at an elevated degree of professionalism, independence, and sense of ownership with a sense of urgency
  • Independently identify and drive projects focused on cost savings, cost avoidance, process improvement, and sustainability

 

This role will include travel both domestic and international (25%).

 

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or other Engineering field and 3+ years of experience working in a cGMP manufacturing environment

-OR-

  • High School Diploma or GED and 7+ years of experience in the Project Engineering of capital equipment
  • 1+ year of Project Management experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work comfortably in production environment and have a combination hands-on / analytical approach to problem solving
  • PLC, HMI, and control system programming experience
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMI PMP) or ability to obtain within (2) years of hire
  • Strong technical knowledge in automation controls engineering with respect to safety, equipment design, related specifications, reviewing and commenting technical drawings, knowledge of manufacturing equipment such as pumps, piping, robotics, IT/OT, and utilities
  • Good skill in identifying interdependencies and ensuring alignment within projects
  • Communicate actively with all stakeholders at all levels within the organization such as project management office, production unit heads, other relevant group functions to achieve best and aligned results
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation and meeting management skills
  • Excellent, disciplined and demonstrated documentation skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite, proficiency with MS Project, Solidworks (or equivalent), and AutoCAD 2D to manipulate or modify 3d models or drawings
  • Ability to understand and provide technical direction to assure compliance with MilliporeSigma’s and external regulatory agencies’ policies, codes, standards, and regulations
  • Good understanding of safety and environmental procedures and requirements for automated equipment or project related work
