R&D Scientist

Your Role:

The Quality Control Research and Development lab is a laboratory environment requiring the ability to carry out laboratory operating procedures in a safe manner. This position requires the effective chemical analysis by chromatography including HPLC, IC, and GC instrumentation with various detectors including UV-Vis, ELSD, RI, FID, and MS. Additional analysis techniques may include titrations. A working knowledge of other techniques including Karl Fisher, FTIR, ICP, melting point, and other gravimetric techniques is required. This position includes assisting with advanced chemical analysis techniques and requires working with computer software and instrument hardware. Assignments may be communicated orally or in writing and must be completed in a timely manner.

 

The scientist will be required to record, review, and report data in a format suitable for a certificate of analysis (COA).  Processing applications include Microsoft Office. This position requires reading, interpreting, and complying with company policies and procedures. As needed, the scientist may be expected to assist with production and quality assurance tasks and perform other duties as assigned. Laboratory work space must be maintained clean and orderly. This is a position that requires frequent communication with others in a laboratory environment, and effective working relationships must be established and maintained.

 

 

 

Who You Are:

Basic Qualification

  • Bachelor of Science in chemistry with 3+ years of related experience

Preferred Qualification

  • Master’s degree in chemistry
  • PhD in Chemistry with a focus on analytical chemistry desired.
  • Knowledge of basic laboratory practices, methods, and techniques to perform a variety of assignments. Experience with Mass Spectrometry desired.
  • Knowledge of and experience performing quantitative analytical chemistry techniques using HPLC, HPLC-MS, GC, GC-MS, Karl Fischer, Melting Point, IR and Uv-Vis
  • Reading and writing English communication skills
  • Hearing and Vision within normal limits
  • Laboratory setting Personal Protective Equipment Required
