Managers, Purchasing and Production Planning

 

Job Location: SAFC Biosciences, Inc. 13804 W 107th St Lenexa, KS 66215

 

Responsibilities:

 

  1. Lead the development and implementation of Purchasing & Planning standards of excellence to drive site throughput and service objectives. 
  2. Lead the S&OP process for the site by assessing the actual vs plan and continually driving process improvements that make the business unit more effective in achieving customer service level goals and financial objectives - cost and working capital.
  3. Understand corporate objectives and leverage points to achieving those objectives.
  4. Using DDMRP Principles define Inventory and Capacity Strategies to ensure proper scheduling techniques are used to drive operational throughput improvements.
  5. Ensure raw material availability in close collaboration with Purchasing. Perform risk analysis and set appropriate target stock levels to meet days-of-sale and Financial Goals.
  6. Support and guide the analysis of the Business Unit and global Cell Culture Media site data sets to produce meaningful insights and metrics, identifying capacity and inventory trends and projections to lead strategic business performance improvements.
  7. Apply appropriate analytical tools and continuous improvement methodologies to increase the effectiveness of Purchasing & Planning to meet customer needs (internal & external) and business profit targets.
  8. Analyze, identify, and drive cycle times and supply improvements together with the Operational Excellence team.
  9. Establish cross-training procedures to avoid single points of failure in critical positions.
  10. Manage procurement, planning, and transfer of materials internally, from site to site, while reducing transportation costs. 
  11. Provide support and administration of core systems (ERP/MRP, Forecasting, etc.) and integration of new systems. Optimize and improve the functions and processes related to this system.  
  12. Coordinate manufacturing schedule with Manufacturing to ensure target output is achieved across 3 production lines.
  13. Identify behavior (systemic or human) that causes discrepancies and offer solutions or provides necessary training.

 

Requirements & Qualifications:

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field, Business, or any scientific field.   

 

In addition, the employer requires the candidate to have the following:

 

At least five (5) years of experience in any occupation involving production planning in a manufacturing environment.

 

In addition, the Employer requires:

 

1. Must have Certified, Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) Certification.

2. Demonstrated knowledge of Inventory Planning, Capacity Planning; Supply Chain Management Processes Design; and Cross-Functional Teams Management gained through at least five (5) years of industry experience.

3. Familiarity with Demand-Driven Material Requirements Planning (DDMRP) gained through one (1) year of work experience.

 

All years of experience may be gained concurrently.
