Your Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Account Manager for the South Central territory based in the US and generally ranging from North Carolina through Florida and out through Texas. to support our customers throughout that region. This position is responsible for identifying new business, engaging new prospects and existing customers, actively managing the opportunity pipeline, and forecasting the related business and driving all sales activities to deliver high revenue growth and spec Mirus flagship products into Cell and Gene Therapy manufacturing processes from Translational Centers, to C&GT Originators, to key BioPharma accounts, to CDMOs.

 

In this role, the Account Manager will operate as the CEO of their territory, take customer-centric approach and serve the customer in collaboration with Field Applications and Technical Support, Marketing, Quality, Production, R&D, Customer Service, and Operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow key accounts within the cell and gene therapy ecosystem, including biotech companies, CDMOs, and academic institutions engaged in advanced therapy development and manufacturing.
  • Build deep customer relationships by understanding technical programs, development timelines, and commercial goals to position relevant solutions and services.
  • Drive sales performance by identifying new opportunities within existing accounts and developing strategic plans to expand business across the C&GT workflow.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with technical support, product management, marketing, and operations to align on customer needs and ensure timely execution of proposals, projects, and supply commitments.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer to internal stakeholders, providing insights into market trends, unmet needs, and product performance.
  • Support technical discussions related to transfection, viral vector production, cell processing, or other key C&GT technologies, coordinating with scientific and application experts as needed.
  • Maintain accurate account records in CRM systems, manage forecasting, and contribute to territory planning and pipeline development.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings to build brand presence and stay informed on evolving trends in the advanced therapies space.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through proactive follow-up, issue resolution, and continuous engagement throughout the product and program lifecycle.

 

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, biotechnology, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
  • 7-10+ years of sales or account management experience in the biopharmaceutical or life sciences industry, with at least 2 years focused on cell and gene therapy markets.
  • Willingness to travel (typically 20-30%) to meet with customers, attend conferences, and support field-based initiatives.
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets in a complex, technical sales environment.
  • Experience working with CDMOs, biotech start-ups, and/or large biopharma clients developing cell and gene therapies.
  • Strong understanding of cell and gene therapy workflows, including upstream and downstream manufacturing, viral vector production, transfection technologies, and analytical methods.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and quality considerations relevant to clinical and commercial manufacturing of advanced therapies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for both scientific and business audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree 
  • Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.

This is a remote rales role with the ability to travel North Carolina through Florida and out through Texas

This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses.

Pay Range for this position: $172,500 - $289,400
