Your Role:

As the Head of Supply Chain, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing our end-to-end supply chain operations, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of GMP products while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance. You will lead a team of supply chain professionals and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, research and development, and regulatory affairs, to drive continuous improvement and streamline processes. You are a key member of the Senior Site Leadership Team and will report directly to the Site Head. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and execute the overall supply chain strategy aligned with the site’s objectives, considering market dynamics, regulatory requirements, and business growth plans.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize supply chain processes, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency while ensuring GMP compliance.

Supply Chain Operations Management:

  • Oversee all aspects of the supply chain, including demand planning, procurement, inventory management, warehousing, logistics, and distribution.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess supply chain performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Lead monthly supply planning reviews in support of the global S&OP process and site Monthly Operations Review.
  • Demonstrate leadership of cross functional teams to understand capacity constraints in the manufacturing sites, including working with operations and technical support to eliminate capacity constraints.
  • Collaborate closely with project management and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless coordination between production schedules and inventory levels to meet customer demands.

Supplier and Vendor Management:

  • Responsible for understanding capacity constraints in the external supply chain (suppliers and intra-company) to eliminate capacity constraints.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure reliable and cost-effective supply of raw materials, components, and services.
  • Conduct regular assessments and audits of suppliers to ensure compliance with GMP regulations, quality standards, and delivery expectations as Supply Chain subject matter expert.
  • Proactively identify alternative suppliers and develop contingency plans to mitigate potential risks.

Quality and Compliance:

  • Ensure all supply chain activities comply with GMP regulations, industry standards, and internal quality management systems.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance and regulatory affairs teams to implement and maintain robust quality control processes, including proper documentation, deviation management, and change control.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
    • Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations to drive individual and team growth.
    • Identify talent gaps and implement strategies to attract, retain, and develop top supply chain professionals.

 

Who you are

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is preferred; however, a combination of relevant work experience and an associate’s degree will also be considered.
  • 7+ years of experience in Bio/Pharma type manufacturing operations with at least 5 years’ experience in supply chain
  • Proven experience in a senior supply chain management role within the biotech, pharmaceutical, or related industry, specifically with GMP products.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in supply chain management or business administration.
  • Experience in a contract development and manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of relevant GMP, quality standards, and compliance requirements for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API)
  • Demonstrated expertise in end-to-end supply chain management, including demand planning, procurement, inventory management, warehousing, logistics, and distribution.
  • Experience in leading and developing high-performing teams, fostering collaboration and driving continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy, quality, and compliance.

 

Pay Range for this position: $112,900 – $193,800

Our ranges are derived from several sources, and largely reliant on relevant industry market data. Should we decide to make an offer, we will consider several factors, including but not limited to your location, skills, experience, career level, and other job-related factors.  This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k)-matching program; paid time off; and paid holidays; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses.
