Major Accounts Manager - Research Solutions ANZ

Major Accounts Manager – Research Solutions ANZ will be responsible for driving commercial growth of the rapidly expanding Research Solutions business in Australia & New Zealand; with a specific focus on the pharmaceutical and teaching hospital segments. A key member of the Research Solutions Team, he/she will develop the commercial strategy, set sales targets, and guide the business team to execute commercial plans. A leader and mentor, he/she will work closely with the Head of Research Solutions and leadership peers to shape the strategy to further grow existing business as well as securing new business. He/she will be instrumental in building strategic high level relationships with existing and new key clients, as well as with senior Life Science leaders in Australia & New Zealand.  


Your Role

  • Identify, develop and implement the strategies and tactics required for acceptance and implementation of company suite of workflow solutions and services within the designated market segments to achieve financial and other commercial targets 
  • Manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders across Australia & New Zealand and work closely with the company commercial and customer support, supply chain and logistics teams as part of a combined effort to drive sales growth and customer success. 
  • Execute on leadership responsibilities to support the transformation of the organisation
  • Apply commercial experience and skills in mentoring, coaching and supporting capacities within the immediate team and across other group functions as required
  • Work with the Head of Research Solutions, Regional Sales Managers, Account Mangers, Marketing and Commercial Services and support teams to ensure an effective and efficient execution of the MAM Commercial Strategy.
  • Work with the Research Solutions leadership to drive and initiate development of new business opportunities as well as securing existing business to shape strategy for company Research Solution Business
  • Partner with the Research Solutions Account Management teams to develop strategic partnerships with all key customer stakeholders.
  • Establish executive level relationships at major client accounts

Who You Are

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering degree in relevant Scientific discipline. MBA is a plus.
  • At least 5-8 years’ experience in national sales and/or account management functions in a range of settings including but not limited to life science and translational medicine research, agricultural research, public/teaching hospitals and clinical laboratories.
  • 3+ years of people and leadership experience with strong business acumen in the Life Science industry
  • Strong knowledge of scientific processes, molecular biology/genomics applications and products.
  • Proven ability to engage with and sell to Institute/Laboratory Directors, Group Leaders/Principal Investigators, Senior Scientists/Technicians and Procurement/Category Managers.
  • Must have an understanding and knowledge of validation processes and requirements in translational research settings.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, project management and negotiation skills
