Your Role:

MilliporeSigma in Miamisburg, OH is seeking a Manufacturing Operator 2.  Working in their newly expanded Stable Isotope Center of Excellence, you will assist in the manufacture of stable isotope compounds.  In this role you will operate various machinery and equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.  You will also monitor product quality during the manufacturing process to ensure adherence to specifications.  This includes inspecting products for defects, conducting visual checks, and performing tests as necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely perform operations to meet quality expectations
    • Ensure safety and quality throughout the process following ISO 9001 and cGMP (as required by the product) guidelines.
    • Perform routine synthetic processes, assays and/or unit operations, involving stable isotope compounds
    • Corrective and Preventive Maintenance of equipment, facilities, utility systems
    • Accurately follow written procedures, MPR’s, SOP’s and other work instructions
    • Set up, use and clean required equipment, tools and materials and working areas during and after operations
    • Charge solids, liquids and gases to flasks and reactors
    • Perform distillation, filtration, extraction and re-crystallization to purify and isolate product
    • Neutralize and dispose of waste
    • Ensure all applicable logbooks have been filled out completely as required by current procedures
    • Monitor chemical reactions using analytical and laboratory equipment and distributed control system
  • Participate in incident investigations and safety meetings
  • In compliance with change control procedures, improve processes through application of industry knowledge, experience, and principles.

  • Wearing personal protective equipment

 

This is a Monday thru Friday, first shift position that will include participation in the call-in program including weekend, holiday and after-hours duty

 

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Associate Degree in any field OR
  • High School diploma or GED and 1+ year experience in a GMP manufacturing, laboratory, warehouse, gas handling, mechanical, packaging, HVAC or automotive technician role

 

 Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any field
  • Knowledge in SAP or other inventory tracking system
  • Skilled in documenting based on Good Documentation Principles (GDP)
  • Ability to achieve goals in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • 3 months of experience working in industry or hands on involvement in a chemical environment
  • Basic math - including metrics and conversions, knowledge of safety rules, mechanical aptitude, eye-hand coordination, communication skills, legible handwriting, mechanical skills, teamwork, problem solving, ability to train others, ability to use hand and air tools, pumps, and an electronic scale and to operate material handling equipment, ability to identify problems, ability to read instructions and understand oral and written instructions
