Senior Specialist - Accounting

Your Role:

General Responsibilities:

Provide support to ensure Good financial governance and compliance, through preparation of financial statements for publication to various stakeholders within and outside the company. Quality and timely preparation of such financial statements is of paramount importance since such stakeholders rely on the information produced. Responsibilities will also include assisting various functions with finance, operations team.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

Prepare periodic financial statements after ensuring a complete understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure. Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end reporting of all monthly financial information. Such statements must provide analysis and explanation for deviations to prior year and budgets.

Take lead to discuss with various stakeholders, including Audit partners, to ensure fulfill responsibilities as needed to ensure a clean and timely audit closure. Assists in development of Company’s annual internal and external audit plan; initiates project planning, assess risk and develops direction for review of internal controls in the Company. Performs financial governance work, including plan preparation, workpapers, findings; verifies the accuracy of financial records as they pertain to assets, liabilities, receipts, expenditures, and related transactions.

Partner with various stakeholders in identifying financial impact due to special business circumstances and providing proposals for changes in policy, procedures and processes.

Assist and supervise in Treasury management of the company and being able to provide cashflow forecasts across all companies. Must be able to deal with Banks for operational aspects and if needed,  steer special requirements for digitalization.

Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions. Be proactive to provide regular training to staff and look for process improvements to maintain the department’s agility. Must be matured to handle personnel issues relating to staff conflicts / absenteeism as well able to guide teams in a timely manner on performance issues and talent development.

Should situations arise, must be able to handle special situations like merger, hive-offs, ERP migrations, ERP system changes due to changes in law/business processes.

Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Understand and follow company rules and regulations. Perform all other duties as assigned and required.

 

Who you are:

Education and Experience Requirements:

CA with seven to ten years of functional experience in a large-scale manufacturing organization, of which 5-7 years in the financial reporting supervisory role is preferred.

Understanding and knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations. Experience on IND AS, a must.

To have experience into working on Internal Financial Controls for the whole company.

Does not shy away from numbers, collaborates well with people, aggressively anticipate impacts of workload/issues to team deadlines and have a very positive work attitude including stressed timelines.

Must be PC proficient. Must have strong experience with SAP / ERP Migration, and proficient with Word, Powerpoint and Advanced Excel skills.  Experience with Business Intelligence, a plus.

Strong organizational, analytical, Critical thinker and interpersonal / problem-solving skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be a team player.

Self motivated to learn new concepts and participate in new projects.
