Digital Sales Specialist

Your role:

We collaborate with the global scientific community by sharing our deep expertise and scientific content.  Through our network of Digital Sales Specialists (DSS), we will serve as the primary point of contact for generating sales of lab water products and services by focusing on selling to end users (i.e. scientists including core facilities) as well as procurement managers where appropriate.  This includes managing stakeholders within different positions within our customers who have different buying drivers and perspectives. 


The focus of this role will be in selling to end users by leveraging the value of our technical products and scientific knowledge.  The DS must have the ability and self-motivation to identify high-priority or high-value opportunities and be able to deliver them by demonstrating value to the customer by empowering their scientific breakthroughs. This position will coordinate various customer support functions, including field and office-based specialists to help our customers meet their goals and maximize business opportunities.


Our broad and relevant portfolio of lab water products is known for their innovation, quality, and accessibility. As a Digital Sales Specialist, you are therefore expected to leverage these values and use all available tools, and resources, to track and report sales activity and share account knowledge, exceed sales targets on a quarterly and annual basis, ensuring a sustainable, profitable, and plannable growth. The DSS will also utilize call planning, pipeline management, lead identification and qualification, proactive sales calling and performance monitoring to drive the sales and exceed the set sales target.


We encourage each other, as part of the scientific community, to strive for scientific breakthroughs and to enable our customers to answer the toughest challenges in Life Science. The DSS is responsible for the maintenance and growth of product sales from our lab water portfolio. We will achieve these goals through connecting and collaborating with our key customers (Researchers, Principal Investigators and Lab Managers), using an array of digital tools to provide state of the art scientific solutions. Experience of selling products from a Life Science portfolio and to this group of customers is absolutely an advantage.


Who you are:

  • Scientific degree (BSc or higher)
  • Languages: native Dutch speaker; fluent in English; French is a plus
  • Strong consultative selling skills
  • Solid account planning and management skills
  • Be digitally savvy and be able to work with tools such as MS Office, Sales Force.com, LinkedIn, social media etc.
  • Willingness to adapt approach, develop relevant technical expertise and embrace a broad range of scientific learnings to provide the best technical solutions to our customers
  • Able to collect key market intelligence and share appropriately
  • Able to work autonomously, collaboratively and as part of a team 
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Very good business acumen and able to produce and interpret sales data in various formats
  • Able to carry out any additional tasks as set by your line manager to a high level
