Your Role:

Regional Insurance Manager is responsible for independently managing our organizations North American insurance programs (domestic insurance programs as well as local primary policies as part of our international insurance programs outgoing from Germany) in close cooperation with our Group Insurance Department in Germany. The Regional Insurance Manager partners closely with our Global Insurance Group and supports our regional & international stakeholders in a complex and growing business environment.  

 

This position is responsible for identifying and assessing our regional risk exposure as well as driving our regional insurance program evolution and improvements, including global, while ensuring that all critical day to-day responsibilities are delivered.  The Candidate would ensure daily responsibilities while driving best in class processes with a continuous improvement mindset. The Candidate must foster strong partnerships with stakeholders demonstrating breadth of experience, subject matter expertise, service orientation and trust.

 

 

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline (i.e. Business, Finance, etc.) with 5+ years’ experience in Insurance/Risk Management – OR –
  • 10+ years’ experience in Insurance/Risk Management

 

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the North American industrial insurance business – overall experience across all insurance lines of business in particular to special lines of business (e.g. general & products liability, Workers Comp, EPLI, Fiduciary, Surety Bonds)
  • Ideally experience in insurance related risks of the pharmaceutical and chemical industry
  • Broker Management & Third-Party Administrator Management capabilities
  • Analytical mindset in identifying risk exposures and respective insurance needs  
  • Project management skills; ability to drive projects
  • Experience with international programs (incoming from outside the US)
  • Innovative skills to evolve existing insurance portfolios
  • Team Player; Ability to collaborate across teams
  • Strong capability to work in a global matrix organization
  • Claims and Cost settlement experience
  • Administration experience in self-insured plans
  • Experience in Captive Management
  • Proven track record in insurance program evolution
  • Proven Data Collection and Analytical Skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve operational and systemic problems
  • Willingness to take on additional responsibility as company grows
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft systems, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent level knowledge of Excel spreadsheets
  • Solid understanding of business, business systems, and business processes
