Associate Scientist 3

Your role:


As an Associate Scientist 3 your activities will support assay development through commercial application of new and innovative service offerings within the biosafety testing space. You are responsible for the integrity of technical work performed in the laboratory, and are required to make observations, maintain detailed workbooks/documentation and ensure all documentation fulfills generally accepted professional/industry standards. Requirements also include maintaining a thorough understanding of company testing services, technical principles and applications as they apply to your position.

Your responsibilities include the planning and execution of experimental designs using a DoE based approach, maintenance of adherent and suspension cell line used for gene therapy applications, bench and pilot scale virus production, good documentation skills, and general lab maintenance duties.  This position requires a combination of intensive laboratory work, generation and delivery of scientific reports, and organization of documents.  The candidate will work in a matrix environment as a member of a highly dynamic team, working on multiple projects. 


Who you are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a scientific discipline (i.e. Biology, Chemistry, etc.) with 1+ years relevant laboratory experience – OR - Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (i.e. Biology, Chemistry, etc.) with 2+ years relevant laboratory experience
  • 1+ years’ experience with aseptic technique
  • 1+ years of mammalian cell culture experience


 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Multi-tasker who can handle multiple high-complexity projects at one time
  • Proficient in the use of basic and advanced laboratory techniques, equipment and materials
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in applicable computer programs
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Broad working knowledge of lab policies and biological assays
