Your Role:

 

The Associate Scientist (Analytical) is responsible for performing analytical testing of finished products, raw materials, custom analytical projects, and in-process samples. The Associate Scientist (Analytical) will assist in solving problems and optimizing processes and methods. The Associate Scientist will also participate in Out of Specification (OOS) investigations.  All work is to be performed accurately, and in compliance with MilliporeSigma, Round Rock Quality and Safety policies. Specific responsibilities include:

 

 

  • Conduct work in a professional manner.
  • Undertake a narrow range of analytical analyses in support of MilliporeSigma catalog, custom and new products, primarily by FTIR, ROI, LOD, KF, OR, RI, SG, DEN, MP, BP, and RI.
  • Assist in technical problem solving, implementation of new processes and initiatives.
  • Complete laboratory maintenance and housekeeping activities in accordance with safety and quality policies and procedures.
  • Complete laboratory equipment calibrations, verifications, and maintenance activities on schedule with required documentation.
  • Train on and demonstrate understanding of a narrow range of analytical techniques.
  • Demonstrate understanding of departmental goals.
  • Demonstrate understanding of departmental and MilliporeSigma processes and quality systems.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and work in accordance with MilliporeSigma’s safety policies.

 

 

Physical Attributes:

 

  • Work near fumes, airborne particles, toxic or hazardous chemicals
  • May need to wear protective gloves, lab coat, safety glasses, respirators, face shields, or goggles

 

 

 

Who You Are:

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or other Life Science discipline
  • 2+ years of experience as an analytical scientist

 

                    OR

 

  • Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or other Life Science discipline
  • 1+ years of experience as an analytical scientist

 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Working knowledge of the ISO 9001, 17025 and 17034
  • Experience in analytical methods and interpretation of analytical results
  • Excellent in technical fundamentals, organizational skills, documentation, and effective communication
  • Ability to write procedures, reports, OOS reports, and technical presentations
  • The ability to understand MilliporeSigma products, applications and quality system for ISO regulatory requirements
