Role:

You will be the Technical Lead and Subject Matter Expert for analytical testing and handling requirements for raw materials used in reference materials to produce battery, semiconductor, polymer or material science related applications, product development, and method development and validation. Lead product design, testing, training, and tech transfer activities in support of new and custom products and other innovation projects.

Purpose of the Position:

Provide in depth technical leadership to solve problems, optimize processes, and develop new methods, processes, and products.  Provide guidance, and training to other scientists on the team and work with colleagues across the marketing, commercial, R&D and manufacturing organization.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Design and development of reference material products targeting battery, electronics, semiconductor, clinical diagnostics, forensic and pharmaceutical segments.
  • Application and workflow development:  design, development and implementation of workflow and application solutions that address customer specific analytical workflows and span the advanced analytical portfolio offerings.
  • Understand and incorporate regulatory, customer, and quality system requirements in product development, specifically for ISO17034, ISO17025 and ISO9001.
  • Design input on strategic projects including technical and strategic assessments.
  • Coach and train colleagues to enhance their development and scientific expertise and provide training for technical transfer of methods.
  • Support equipment qualifications and maintenance/troubleshooting of analytical instruments.
  • Investigate and document out of specification results, deviations and management of change.
  • Collaborate with manager, project manager and project teams to create detailed plans for each project identifying resources and milestones implement validation and tech transfer requirements
  • Publications, presentations and customer facing interactions as needed

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD with a minimum of 5 years post-graduate technical experience in a relevant STEM related discipline; Master’s degree with 7+ years or Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years relevant experience in STEM related discipline. 
  • Advanced Technical Expertise in relevant science or technology area

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership and critical thinking ability in expertise (e.g. organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, process chemistry)  
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in subject matter field, and ability to understand and interpret analytical methods and results.
  • Ability to understand the scientific rationale and customer requirements for projects and communicate them effectively to the team.
  • Ability to critically review project design vs. safety, quality and technical requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and technical writing skills.  Ability to write procedures, reports and scientific publications. 

Willingness to travel up to 10% of time including international travel.
