Your Role:
As a Quality Associate Scientist, you are responsible for performing analytical testing of finished products, raw materials, custom analytical projects, and in-process samples. You will assist in solving problems and optimizing processes and methods. You will also participate in Out of Specification (OOS) investigations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform analytical testing using techniques such as FTIR, ROI, LOD, KF, RI, SG, DEN, MP, and BP.
- Support catalog, custom, and new product development through routine analyses.
- Assist with technical problem-solving and the implementation of new processes.
- Conduct lab maintenance, housekeeping, and equipment calibrations per safety and quality standards.
- Ensure timely completion and documentation of equipment verifications and maintenance.
- Train on and apply a limited range of analytical techniques.
- Adhere to departmental goals, quality systems, and MilliporeSigma processes.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures in daily lab operations.
Physical Attributes:
- Work near fumes, airborne particles, toxic or hazardous chemicals
- Wear protective gloves, lab coat, safety glasses, respirators, face shields, goggles
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or other Life Science discipline.
- 1+ years of experience as an analytical scientist.
OR
- Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or other Life Science discipline.
- 6+ month of experience as an analytical scientist.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent knowledge of the ISO 9001, 17025 and 17034.
- Experience in analytical methods and interpretation of analytical results.
- Proficient in technical fundamentals, organizational skills, documentation, and effective communication.
- Experience writing procedures, reports, OOS reports, and technical presentations.
