Your Role:
As a Sr. Automation Engineer within the Manufacturing Engineering team, you are a critical business partner for and will be accountable for managing and advancing manufacturing automation & assisted robotics technology within MilliporeSigma’s Life Science Plant Operations. This position will support growth by developing & expanding internal capabilities, deploying best-in-class robust processes & technologies to ensure efficient use of our assets. Specific responsibilities include:
- Scoting, developing, and executing advanced manufacturing, automation, and robotic technologies
- Focus on developing best-in-class strategies for existing & new products
- Ensuring manufacturing footprint develops robotic and automated systems
- Extend the productivity of highly-skilled operators and technicians
- Provide complete compliance to Certified Reference Material manufacturing standards such as ISO-17034
- Delivering solutions that integrate into digital manufacturing systems
- Meet data integrity requirements for customer satisfaction
- Selecting and directing suppliers of Off-The-Shelf (OTS) components
- Achieve target levels of safety, reliability, and precision
The location of this position is in Round Rock, Texas, USA
Who you are:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or other Engineering, or other Engineering discipline
- 5+ years of experience in applied manufacturing automation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or other Engineering discipline
- Experience with robotic systems and controls
- Working knowledge of quality and safety regulations
- Basic understanding of Engineering and Biological / Life Science processes
- The ability to work in a regulated environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization
- Strong Leadership skills, Influence skills, and Change agent
- The ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Process driven and experienced in standardizing and simplifying work processes
- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, advanced in MS PowerPoint and Excel
- The ability to develop executive level presentations and reports in an efficient manner
- Good stakeholder management skills across all levels
- Experience in working in a complex matrix organization
- Ability to deal with confidential information
- Ability to engage broad audiences to adopt new work processes and drive change
- A demonstrated commitment to safety
