Your role:
The Manager  of Fab Operations will have the overall responsibility to direct and manage the execution of work flow in the Process Fab to support multiple concurrent projects that are run by the Customer Program Teams as well as internal development Teams.  The Manager  of Fab Operations will manage the shift operations supervisors who oversee the Process Associates in a 24 hour, 7 days a week operation.  This role includes managing Engineer(s) and Project Manager(s).  This responsibility includes managing Fab wide costs for chemicals, gowns, gloves, and process related consumables (eg deposition masks) to maintain and operate day to day function.  In addition, it is the responsibility of this position to oversee and control Fab wide quality and repeatability through monitoring and tracking (SPC) process, contamination and particles.  This position will build and maintain successful cross functional relationships with the CP’s and Internal Development Teams as well as with Equipment Engineers, Facilities and other Operations organizations.  The manager will build and sustain a strong team and successfully manage work flow execution, staffing, prioritization and continuously improve business operations and employee competence.  


Job responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility to execute technical projects in workflow supporting R&D activities from the various Customer Programs and/or Workflow Engineering and ensure on time delivery.
  • Maintain high standards for safety in the fab.  Treat safety as #1 priority and ensure no safety protocols are violated.
  • Interface with the internal customers to review deliverables, prioritize projects and execute
  • Ensure smooth transition of activities to the weekend and maintain high productivity across the shifts through the weekend.  Responsible for operations 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
  • Hire high performance employees.  Provide leadership through effective communications, coaching, training and development and build a strong organization with high morale.  Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.  Consult with Human Resources Department as appropriate.
  • Forecast and assess operations headcount needs.  Manage department costs.
  • Apply lean principles to achieve continuous improvement in the areas of process, quality, cost, manufacturing throughput and first-pass-yield.   Generate SOP Documentation 
  • Direct and manage supervisors to accomplish shift objectives, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures. 
  • Direct and manage Project Manager(s) and Engineer(s) to identify, recommend and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost.  Monitor and track productivity and quality through weekly execution metrics. 
  • Identify, validate, and deploy process performance measurement metrics and data gathering systems optimizing sustainable scalability and reproducible manufacturing outcomes for all operations.
  • Define and deploy root cause analysis and corrective action plans to identify and resolve quality and yield issues.
  • Define and implement training and development strategies for Process Associates and Supervisors, ensure optimized coverage of critical functions across all shifts and manufacturing modules.



Who You Are
Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable area of Engineering or 10-15 years of experience in semiconductor wafer fabrication operations and engineering management
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor processing and thin film deposition/material characterization
  • Experience in managing a 24x7 operation

  • Work may require to use of Class 100 Clean Room suits,

  • May need to wear ear plugs when working in areas with excessive noise
