Your Role:

 

The Principal Process Engineer will develop differentiated material solutions for semiconductor device technology. This is a senior position requiring a high level of expertise in Atomic Layer and Chemical Vapor Deposition (ALD/CVD) processes and understanding of the semiconductor device integration. In this role, you are expected to identify, originate, and execute new ideas. Analyze complex issues and significantly improve, change, or adapt existing methods and techniques. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-organization stakeholders on technical topics, and impact a range of important operational, or project activities within your own team and as well as other related teams that affect team performance, and the way people work.

 

Key aspects of the position are as follows:​​​​​​​

  • Drive development of ALD/CVD depositions using novel precursors & co-reactants to enable reliable and efficient deposition of various materials with desired target film properties.
  • Manage technical projects developing ALD or ALE processes of various materials for use as functional/active layers in logic/memory test devices while interfacing with other team members/groups to utilize these layers in devices that meet or exceed key performance specifications (e.g. J, EOT, WF). 
  • Manage projects and programs to completion in accordance with predetermined requirements, with specific attention to demonstrating differentiation of new precursors, resource utilization, and timeliness for completion.
  • Learn and adopt new concepts and capable of handling the ambiguity and the inherent uncertainties that come with advanced material research and development.
  • Embrace and establish ‘safety-first’ mindset and conduct hazard analysis, support safety audits & documentation.

 

Who you are

 

Minimum Qualifications:

    • Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics or a related science or engineering discipline
    • 8+ years of hands-on, in-depth post graduate experience in atomic layer deposition (ALD), chemical vapor deposition (CVD), atomic layer etching (ALE) and semiconductor device integration.
    • Proven track record of successful process & material development leading to adoption of new logic or memory device technology at customers.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

    • Proven track record of successful process & material development leading to adoption of new logic or memory device technology at customers.
    • Subject matter expert in precursor selection or design for ALD or ALE processing; in oxide, nitride, and metal ALD deposition; working with vacuum equipment.
    • Demonstrated excellence in effective project leadership and ability to mentor, coach/train scientists/technicians.
    • Excellent teamwork as well as verbal and written communication skills.
    • Self-motivated, results-oriented with high commitment to work quality in a fast-paced environment.
    • Skilled in utilizing common characterization techniques to achieve target thin-film performance.
    • Global cultural awareness, enthusiastic and with high bias for action
    • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and ability to react to shifting priorities to meet business needs and deadlines with limited supervision.
    • Experience working with customers and good customer-oriented attitude required.
    • Background in corelating material/film performance to device performance for semiconductors and advanced memory technology development.
    • Background in evaluating thin film performance using electrical test vehicles such as MOSCAP, MIMCAP, Transistor.

 

 

Pay Range for this position: $73,000 - $219,000

 

Our ranges incorporate all levels and career types available within this specific role, and are derived from relevant industry market data.  Should we decide to make an offer, we will consider several factors, including but not limited to your location, skills, experience, career level, and other job-related factors.  This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; paid time off; and paid holidays; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses.
